Representing clients in the California trial and appellate courts for more than 25 years, David Bromfield serves as Senior Litigation Counsel at The Miller Law Firm. He has amassed an extremely successful track record, recovering millions of dollars for his clients while saving additional millions through ruthlessly efficient litigation management.
David’s previous representation of developers, builders, design firms and construction-products manufacturers in construction defect cases brings a wealth of experience and valuable perspective to our Association clients. He takes a critical approach to the evaluation of construction defect claims and is able to implement practical and effective resolution strategies, often through mediation and settlement negotiations. David is an expert in alternative dispute resolution, having successfully handled scores of arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences.
David’s past practice areas include construction defects; products liability; commercial contract disputes; employment claims alleging discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination; unfair/illegal/fraudulent business practices; premises liability; real property disputes; environmental contamination; employee dishonesty and fraud; and intellectual property.
David is a veteran of some of San Francisco’s finest law firms, including Schiff Hardin LLP, Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, and Morgenstein & Jubelirer LLP, where he was an Equity Partner.
David also worked as a member of the litigation and trial team at Meyers Nave, which is among the premier firms in California specializing in the representation of public entities. While there, he represented courts, utility districts, school districts, and police forces in the San Francisco Bay Area. A number of his cases involved highly sensitive matters that had garnered extensive press coverage.
David has guest-lectured on pre-trial procedure at UC Hastings Law School and was an Editor of the Law Review at the University of Michigan Law School. He also co-authored “Interference with Economic Relations,” 3 California Forms of Jury Instruction (Matthew Bender/LexisNexis publications).
