Construction Defect Mediation and Litigation

Thomas E. Miller has been a distinguished construction defect lawyer for over 25 years. During his first eight years of practice with one of San Diego's "big three" law firms, Higgs, Fletcher and Mack, he represented developers and their insurance companies. Since 1981, Miller has exclusively represented homeowners associations in construction defects and land subsidence claims. A pioneer in his field, he has recovered over $350 million for his association clients including 75 settlements and verdicts over $1 million. Mr. Miller is licensed to practice law in the states of California and Colorado and has offices throughout the Western United States.

Distinction

Mr. Miller is the co-author of the only consumer handbook on the subject, "Home and Condo Defects; A Consumer Guide to Faulty Construction," (2001). He is also the author of the only legal textbooks on the subject, "California Construction Defect Litigation: Residential and Commercial," (1986 & 1993), which has been cited by several Courts of Appeals, and "Handling Construction Defect Claims: Western States" (3rd Edition). Miller is the author and instructor of several university extension courses entitled "California Construction defect Law for Community Associations," specifically tailored to educate property managers and homeowner association board of directors.
