Paul Cooley is a 26 year trial attorney with extensive complex litigation experience over a wide range of legal areas, including construction defects, contract disputes, fraud, sustainable construction, property damage and catastrophic construction injuries. Over his lengthy career, Paul has worked on a wide variety of multi-million dollar construction defect claims, representing a wide range of private and public owners on the Plaintiff’s side. Moreover, Paul has represented target defendants in large construction claims, providing him with a unique perspective of the interplay between construction claims, defenses, and insurance coverage issues and how insurance companies analyze construction defect claims.
A licensed attorney in California state and federal courts, Paul has been instrumental in obtaining several multi-million dollar settlements for his private and public entity clients.
Paul is a zealous and skilled advocate at all levels necessary for trial, including conducting pre-trial depositions of percipient and expert witnesses, preparing and arguing pre-trial motions, jury selection, producing a persuasive opening statement, conducting direct and cross-examination of witnesses, handling hostile expert witnesses, and issuing a compelling closing argument.
