Construction defect "Warranty" bill killed.

May 8th, 2001 - Assembly Member Dutra, facing sure defeat before the Assembly Judiciary Committee, made his building industry bill a "two year bill," in effect killing the bill for 2001. Assembly Member Steinberg's bill, AB 267, which improves the Calderon process and will be a vehicle for Aas discussions, passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee and now heads to the Assembly Floor. Also made was Assembly Member Dutra's two year bill limiting the ability to sue inspectors.
